Science Buskers is a festival that encompasses the idea of developing an individual's communication skills through expressions of science in creative manners. Organized as a competition, this event serves as an excellent platform to spread key messages relating to the importance of inspiring an interest in science. During the competition, contestants will do a "show-and-tell" on any science topic, and judging will be based on audiences' votes and judges' scores.

    • Anyone aged 7 years old and above
    • You can participate as an individual or as team of up to 3 members.

    Scenario 1: Social distancing and safety measures still in place.

    Online Final Round

    = Timeline will be extended to September:

    Masterclass workshop on last week of July (between 27 to 31 July)

    Finalists to submit a new video or within a month after Masterclass by 28 Aug 2020.

    = Working committee to convene and decide on winners based on video submission

    = Online voting; shortlisted team videos submitted will be put up for popularity voting; able to garner sufficient reach as well. 

     

    Scenario 2: COVID-19 Situation improves and Govt allows mass events

    Carry on with original plan

    = Masterclass workshops conducted on last week of July (between 27 to 31 July)

    = To have satisfactory precautionary measures in place before proceeding

    = To reduce number of teams busking and space out booths

    = Cordoned and Restrict access to the area of operations (AO) by limiting number of people entering the AO

    = Patrons will be given voting slips when they exit the AO to vote/online voting.

    You could win:

    The top three winners of each category in the Science Buskers Festival will be awarded both cash prizes and a one-year renewable Science Buskers Festival Artist Engagement where they will be engaged by Science Centre Singapore to perform on a per need basis.
